terms of service

last updated: march 2026

acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Trashbox at trashbox.email, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service. These terms apply to all visitors and users of the platform.

description of service

Trashbox provides a free, anonymous, disposable email service. It generates temporary email addresses on demand — no registration, no password, no personal information required. Each inbox is active for up to 2 hours and is then permanently deleted along with all received messages.

The service is intended to help you avoid spam and protect your primary email address when signing up for websites, newsletters, or online services you may not fully trust.

no warranties — provided "as-is"

Trashbox is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or delivery of all incoming emails. The service may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without prior notice.

We are not liable for any loss, damage, or inconvenience arising from your use of or inability to use Trashbox.

prohibited uses

You may not use Trashbox for any unlawful or harmful purpose. Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to:

We reserve the right to block access or terminate inboxes at our sole discretion if we detect abuse.

no expectation of privacy for email content

Temporary email addresses generated by Trashbox are not secret. Anyone who knows or guesses your address can view the emails in that inbox. There is no password protection on individual inboxes.

Do not use Trashbox to receive messages you consider private or confidential. Treat every email sent to a Trashbox address as potentially visible to others.

not suitable for sensitive information

You must not use Trashbox to receive or handle sensitive personal or institutional information, including but not limited to:

Trashbox takes no responsibility for any consequences arising from misuse of the service for such purposes.

receive-only service

Trashbox is strictly a receive-only email service. You cannot send emails, reply to messages, or initiate outbound communication of any kind from a Trashbox address. Any attempt to use our infrastructure for sending email is prohibited.

data retention and domain availability

All emails and attachments delivered to a Trashbox inbox are automatically and permanently deleted after 2 hours. We do not keep archives or backups of email content.

The domains available through Trashbox may change over time. We do not guarantee that any specific domain will remain available indefinitely. Relying on a Trashbox address for long-term communication is strongly discouraged.

indemnification

You agree to hold harmless and indemnify Trashbox, its operators, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

intellectual property

All content, branding, design, and code that make up Trashbox — including the name, logo, and interface — are the property of Trashbox and its operators. You may not reproduce, copy, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the platform without explicit written permission.

Emails received in your temporary inbox remain the property of their respective senders. Trashbox claims no ownership over email content.

changes to terms and contact

By continuing to use Trashbox after we post updates to these Terms of Service, you accept the revised terms. We will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page whenever changes are made.
